collect and why

What we collect

When you fill in a form or email us, we collect the details you give us — your name, email address, phone number if you include it, and whatever you tell us about your project. When you browse the site, standard analytics may record your visit: pages viewed, rough location (city level), device type and how you found us. We don't collect anything else, and we don't run advertising trackers.

What we do with it

Your contact details are used to reply to your enquiry and, if we end up working together, to run the project — quotes, invoices, project updates. Analytics data helps us understand which pages people actually read so we can make the site better. That's the whole list. We don't sell, rent or trade your information to anyone, ever.

Who sees your information

Only the people working on your project inside Smart Web Crafting. Some data passes through service providers we use to run the business — our email provider, form processing and analytics tools — and each of those is bound by its own privacy obligations. Where a provider stores data overseas, we rely on their standard contractual protections.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details from people we don't end up working with are deleted within 12 months. Project records — contracts, invoices and correspondence — are kept for 7 years to satisfy Australian tax and legal requirements. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form and can't identify you personally.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act you can ask to see what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us at the address below and we'll action it within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK, the same rights apply under GDPR — access, correction, deletion, portability and the right to object to processing. If you're not happy with how we handle a request, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
